Natural & Home Made Hair Treatment For Oily Hair

Natural Hair Treatment For Oily Hair

I often get asked about my natural hair care routine or regimen. Over the years I have learned how to properly grow and maintain my hair. Trust me I made many mistakes along the way with my natural hair. There is no one technique or routine that works for everyone but hopefully my routine can give you helpful tips and ideas.

Home Remedies for Oily Hair:

Mix two tablespoons of white vinegar with water. Apply the mixture on your scalp. Massage with your fingers, for about two minutes. Leave the mixture on your head, for about half an hour and then rinse your hair with water.

Baby powder is one of the effective home remedies for oily hair. Sprinkle a little amount baby powder into your tresses. Leave it for about five minutes and then comb your hair with a comb. The baby powder will absorb oil from your hair, making it less greasy.

Dilute 100 ml of alcohol in two cups of water. Rinse your hair with the solution. This will remove the excess build up of oil in your hair.

Brew tea leaves in a cup of water. Add the juice of half a lemon to the tea. After cooling the decoction, apply it on your hair. Leave it for about 20 minutes and then wash your hair thoroughly with water.
Mix 3 tablespoons of vinegar with two teaspoons of lemon juice and one cup of warm water. Massage the mixture in your scalp. Leave it for half an hour and then rinse your hair with water.

Essential oils can help a great deal in reducing the production of oil in your hair. Combine 8 drops of rose geranium essential oil with the same quantity of lemongrass essential oil. Pour the mixture into an 8-ounce bottle of your regular shampoo.

You can personalize your regular shampoo and make it more suitable for your oily hair. For the purpose, mix ½ teaspoon of aloe vera gel and one tablespoon of lemon juice with 4 tablespoons of the shampoo. Blend the ingredients well. Wash your hair with the shampoo.

Regular shampooing is good for your oily hair, but you should not overdo it. This is because the body tends to produce more oil, when the hair is less greasy, after shampooing.

Avoid using styling products such as hair gel, hair spray, because they moisten the hair, making it oilier.
Diet plays an important role in the secretion of oil by the sebaceous glands. Therefore, try to reduce the quantity of oil in your food. It is better to avoid deep-fried food. Replace the fried and fatty food with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Conditioner is not required for oily hair, because the product tends to make the hair greasy. However, if you still want to use a conditioner, make sure that you apply it only to the ends of your tresses, rather than the roots.

Yogurt Face Mask for Sensitive or Sunburnt Skin

Yogurt Face Mask for Sensitive or Sunburnt Skin

This mask is great for soothing chapped, sunburned or otherwise irritated skin. Extra tip: This mask works well for other skin types as well. For oily skin, add a couple drops of lemon or lime juice. For dry skin, mix in a couple tablespoons of honey.

Ingredients:

1 cup natural yogurt (we like it just-out-of-the-fridge cold and I love the brand Fage's "Total" pictured here, because it's creamy and thick) ½ cup oatmeal (any type of basic oatmeal works here)

Preparation:

Mix the ingredients together.
Apply to the skin for 10-15 minutes. Wash off mask with a washcloth steamed in the microwave (careful that it's not too hot).
Two other fun options for oatmeal face masks: Egg whites. Mix the oatmeal and an egg white. Let the mixture dry on face, then gently wash off with a few splashes of warm water. Follow with a steaming washcloth to the face.

Peptol-Bismol. A friend of mine uses Pepto-Bismol with oatmeal for her masks. She got this tip years ago from a magazine. She suggests the active ingredient (bismuth subsalicylate) in Pepto-Bismol soothes your stomach as well as your face.

Simple Tips For A Fairer Complexion For Dewy-Soft Skin

Simple Tips For A Fairer Complexion

We all dream to have a pristine and dewy-soft skin. Believe me, it’s not really a Herculean task, you do not need to spend a bomb on it either. Below are 8 easy tips to improve Face Complexion.
1. Drink Water Aim to drink at least eight glasses every day, it helps the skin to loosen up and allow it to grow fairer.

2. Keep Your Face Clean If you have oily skin, wash your face with cool water as often as you can and pat dry, this will prevent an increase of clogged pores and blackheads.

3. Exfoliate To boost cell turnover and to maintain bright skin, use a cleanser with alpha hydroxy acids (such as glycolic or salicylic acid) several times a week. Alternatively, you can exfoliate manually using a facial scrub (which has small beads or granules) or use a plain washcloth and repeat this at least twice in a week.

4. Facials And Clean-ups Go in for face treatments and facials only once a month, too much of it will tire and disturb the natural balance of your skin.

5. Moisturize At Night Your skin repairs itself while you sleep. After removing make-up , use a night cream to gently assist your skin’s rejuvenation process. If you have dry skin, use a heavier night cream.

6. Home Beauty Treatments Dab some cotton in cold milk or use a slice of chilled tomato to rub on your face; This will lighten the dark spots, increase the glow and re-hydrate your skin.

7. Sleep The prescribed 7-8 hours of sound sleep will prevent wrinkled skin, dull and puffy eyes and dark circles, this contributes to your overall beauty, even complexion.

8. Think rich While applying makeup, choose products with lush, creamy textures like a hydrating foundation or a tinted moisturizing balm, which will add more luminosity to your complexion.

Oily or Acne-Prone Skin - Egg White Facial Home Made Treatment

Egg whites tighten the pores and contain proteins that both repair skin and absorb excess oil, making them a powerful tool for dealing with acne. Separate the egg white from the yolk (save the yolk for cooking!). Whisk together the egg white with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for one minute. The mixture will be messy, so apply it to your clean, dry face over a sink. Keep the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes — start whipping up your favorite dessert with that egg yolk while you wait! Once the mask starts cracking, wash away with warm water.
